In response to advancing radio communication technologies and to align with Government Regulation No. 46/2021, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and Digital (KOMDIGI) has issued a draft Ministerial Decree outlining the Technical Standards for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Devices.
These radios are essential for professional communications, especially in logistics, emergency response, and mobile fleet coordination.
🔍 Key Updates in the 2025 LMR Standard Draft
- Updated EMC and Safety Requirements:
- EMC: CISPR 32 / ETSI EN 301 489
- Electrical Safety: IEC 60950-1 or IEC 62368-1
- Device Categorization:
- Divided into: conventional radio, trunking radio, and private mobile radio
- Each includes: handheld, mobile, base/repeater, and modem units
- Frequency Limitations Adjusted:
- UHF band narrowed to 300 – 470 MHz
- 450 – 512 MHz usage no longer allowed
- Simplified Testing Parameters:
- Only critical factors tested: operating frequency, channel spacing, conducted power, spurious emissions, frequency stability
- Others (e.g., temperature, impedance) are removed
- International Test Methodologies Introduced:
- Aligned with global best practices for compliance and efficiency
📜 Previous Standards to Be Repealed
This new regulation will revoke outdated standards such as:
- Dirjen Decrees No. 003/1996, 84/1999, 270/2001, 168/2002
- Dirjen Regulations No. 209/2008, 171/2009
