On Thursday, May 30, 2024, Cerapproval International proudly participated in an online socialization event about the implementation of Kominfo Regulation No. 3 of 2024, which regulates the certification of telecommunications equipment and/or devices. This event was part of the 17th Customer Day series organized by SDPPI KOMINFO.
This socialization is a crucial step to ensure that all parties involved in the telecommunications industry in Indonesia understand and comply with the latest regulations issued by the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo). Kominfo Regulation No. 3 of 2024 introduces several significant changes in the certification process for telecommunications devices, including new technical standards and updated procedures for obtaining certification.

Highlights of the Socialization
During the event, various questions from participants were highlighted, including:
1. Accepted E-label: Participants inquired whether e-labels are accepted under Article 26. It was clarified that the use of e-labels/digital labels on devices is allowed. Both e-labels and physical labels are valid options and can be used as needed.
2. One Day Service Commitment: Questions about the one-day service commitment were answered clearly, stating that certification applications will be accepted or rejected within a maximum of 24 hours from the issuance of the application receipt.
3. Application of the New Regulation: Another question raised was regarding the impact of the new Regulation No. 3 of 2024 on devices that are already certified. It was explained that the new regulation is not retroactive, so devices that have already obtained postel certification do not need to follow this new regulation.
Certification Requirements
The socialization also explained the certification application requirements, which consist of three categories:
- Administrative Requirements: Documents and information that must be submitted to initiate the certification process.
- Technical Requirements: Technical standards that the device must meet to obtain certification.
- Special Requirements: Additional requirements that may be needed depending on the type and features of the device.
Types of Certificates
There are two types of certificates that can be applied for:
- Model/Type Certificate: Can be applied for by all types of applicants for brands and models/types (not series), with no limit on the number of features as long as they comply with technical standards.
- Variant Certificate: Can be applied for by all types of applicants for brands, models/types, and variants, limited to only one telecommunication feature and transmission power <10 mWatt.
Sirani Application
Additionally, the Sirani application was introduced, which provides various features to facilitate the telecommunications device certification process.
