SDPPI OBLIGES FULL PARAMETER EMC TESTING

As of January 1, 2024 SDPPI requires full parameter EMC testing, conducted and radiated. This full parameter EMC testing not only applies to devices powered by AC power, but also applies to devices powered by DC Power that have a charger.

As stated in the regulation that devices that have a DC power supply port that is powered by a dedicated AC/DC power are considered as AC-powered devices. So that devices with DC power that have a charger are required to test EMC full parameters, radiated and conducted.

This is already listed in the existing regulation:

  • PERDIRJEN SDPPI NUMBER 161 OF 2019
  • PERDIRJEN SDPPI NUMBER 2 OF 2019
  • PERDIRJEN SDPPI NUMBER 4 5 OF 2019

What are some examples of devices with DC Power that are subject to EMC radiated and conducted tests?
Wireless keyboard that has a charger cable port, bluetooth headset, TWS.

What are some examples of devices that do not need full parameter EMC testing?

Wireless mouse. A wireless mouse that uses radio frequency but does not have a charging port (only uses non-rechargeable batteries as power support) are allow to test the radiated parameter only.
